About MetricCalc — Accurate, Fast, and Transparent Converters
MetricCalc is a collection of lightweight, high-accuracy converters designed for real work: cooking and nutrition, shipping and logistics, lab notes and QA, education and engineering basics. Our pages emphasize exact constants, clear formulas, and mobile-first speed, so you can get trustworthy answers in seconds.
Our Mission
We believe unit conversion should be simple, auditable, and consistent everywhere—on labels, in spreadsheets, and inside apps. That’s why each tool shows the exact relationship we use (for example, 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg or 1 oz = 28.349523125 g) and explains rounding guidance for everyday UIs, invoices, and scientific use.
Accuracy & Methods
- Exact constants: We use internationally fixed definitions (SI and modern avoirdupois) and treat them as canonical within our calculators.
- Rounding once: We compute at full precision and recommend rounding only at display time to keep PDFs, dashboards, and CSV exports aligned.
- Two-way checks: Tools are tested in both directions (e.g., g ↔ oz) using a small regression set of known values to prevent drift.
- Plain-language content: We provide context, examples, and tables so users can sanity-check results without a textbook.
Editorial Process
Each page is drafted against our internal checklist: correct factor, inverse formula, example with working, real-world use cases, precision policy, and FAQs. Updates are versioned and reviewed to minimize regressions and maintain consistent tone and structure across the site.
Monetization & Independence
MetricCalc is supported by advertising (including Google AdSense). Ads never influence the constants, formulas, or results shown in our tools. Sponsored placements, if any, will be labeled. For details on cookies and ad technologies, see our Privacy Policy.
